/I’m the girl who trips on her untied shoelaces, while impatiently glancing at the clock./ Hoping no one notices./ I fall up the stairs instead of down them. / I always walk in one direction./ The direction that points towards you./ I have no idea where I’m going, but I always know exactly where I’ve been./ When I seem distant, I’m closer than you’d believe./ I could be watching you this very instant, and you’re not even aware of it./ Chances are... you’ve fucked me over in one way or another, but I continue to be there for you./ But, maybe you don’t even know me./ You’re not really here, but you’re the ghost that lives inside of me./ I find myself reaching to you, but grasp the air instead. I just want something to hold onto./ You extend your arms, and you realize I’m farther than you can reach./ I measure these moments in the heartbeats I’ve skipped./ If you we’re to try and kiss me, I’d probably be the first to let go./ If you we’re to hold my hand, yours would most likely be warmer than mine./ I find comfort in moving vehicles, and could drive with you for hours./ Not caring where we go, or who we meet./ I’m sure you can hear me breathing in the passenger seat./ And most likely my heart will be beating louder than yours by far./ But the sound is beautiful, and can adjust at any time to beat with yours./ I'll be breathing in sunshine...while your eyes are focused on the girl who has a better fashion sense than me. / My arms are crossed, and my head is down, and I start to wish I was her for a moment./ It is too easy to be ignored in this world, so I try to dangle myself in front of you./ Like a decoration would do./ I may start to sing to you, but my voice gets drowned out by sadness./ You'll most likely fall asleep in my arms, as my fingers get lost within your tangled hair./ You smile and shake./ I don't mean to make you tremble.../ So I stop, and move to the chair beside your bed, where you sleep like a child./ There is nothing more beautiful than you sleeping./ You inhale and exhale, escape into a dream./ I wish I could reach you here./ It would be so easy to let you take me there./ That waking dreamland we escape to every now and then./ You are sleeping with your arms around the pillow, as your feet are left dangling off the bed./ There should only be one of us here./ I quietly walk downstairs./ Though I am exhausted, I cannot rest./ I come back to you and watch you breathe./ I move the objects on your dresser and find the picture of your x lover./ The girl you loved before me.../ I hold the frame to my chest and silent tears fall at my side./ You struggle in your sleep and awake to my swollen eyes and burning cheeks./ You have no idea why I'm crying, but insist on taking me home./ The drive is silent./ You consider me weird, and we never speak or share a kiss again.............../
